A world-class equestrian competition and beloved social tradition in the Hamptons, the Hampton Classic has been drawing excited crowds for four decades. Brown Harris Stevens was honored to be a sponsor of the event, which took place in Bridgehampton on the days leading up to and during Labor Day Weekend.
“We are excited that once again we are supporting one of the finest horse shows in the country. The Classic is a treasured and important part of our community,” said Robert Nelson, Executive Managing Director of BHS Hamptons.
In addition to promotional signage throughout the event, a 30-second commercial spot airing on the main screen every hour, and hospitality opportunities, Brown Harris Stevens was also the main sponsor of the Amateur/Owner Jumper Competition.
Nelson presented the awards to the top three winners of the event, during which 31 riders competed in the Jumper 2 ring for a total of $3,000 in prize money. The first-place winner was Annika Martin of Katonah, NY riding Anaconda D. Second place went to Britta Stoeckel of Chicago, IL riding Billy Galleon, and third place was awarded to Kyle Olson of Pawling, NY riding Jacobijn Van T&L.
Congratulating the winners, Nelson said, “As an equestrian I understand, and am extremely impressed by, the level of skill, dedication, and care for their horses that these winners have exhibited today.”
Cynthia Barrett, a Brown Harris Stevens broker, also hosted a special event in the VIP tent.
The luncheon event, which overlooked the Grand Prix Ring, was held to raise awareness and critical funding for Teen Cancer America, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting adolescent and young adult cancer patients by creating state-of-the-art youth-focused programs and facilities.
